New Project Spotlight: The Gryer Shawl by Isabell Kraemer
Knit by Peggy
From the designer:
“Gryer is a simple but elegant tricolored triangular shawl. It is worked in worsted weight yarn starting at the narrow point of the left edge and increasing on every other row to a full side of the right edge. It is worked predominantly in garter stitch making it super soft and squishy. Eyelet rows and thin stripes are added when shifting to the next color to give it extra interest and the opportunity for individuality.”
Our newest shop sample is the large and luxurious Gryer shawl. This asymmetrical triangle wrap can be worn in multiple ways, and is perfect for cool evenings or crisp days. Worked in worsted weight yarn, it is a fast and mindless knit that will fly off of your needles. Soft and squishy garter stitch is combined with simple eyelet rows that allow the beauty of hand-dyed yarns to take the spotlight in this easy project.
Peggy knit our sample using 2 skeins each of Blue Sky Woolstok in Thermal Spring and Midnight Sea, and 2 skeins of Granola Bar Aran in Dark and Dangerous Teal. Here are her modifications for adding a striped border design to the final rows, adding a little flair to the finished shawl:
